My Amaryllis is Flowering

A few years ago I bought one of these amaryllis bulbs from a local nursery. I loved the fact that the color of the flower was so unusual - a lovely lime green. I found the bulb again this year but sadly, it didn't flower in time for Christmas. However, the good thing is that now, after Christmas, with all the decorations removed, my lovely flower is in it's glory.

Evergreen Amaryllis

I was browsing a local garden store in November when I came across this gorgeous amaryllis. The vibrant lime green of the flower on the label was so different from any amaryllis I've ever bought that I snapped it up immediately.

I couldn't wait to see it bloom and it certainly did not disappoint me. It's quite stunning. I'll definitely be on the prowl for more of these bulbs again next November.

My amaryllis is finally flowering!

My mother-in-law gives me an amaryllis bulb every December and every January it blooms in my kitchen. It brings a lovely splash of color to an otherwise rather dreary weather winter. I never know what color it's going to be. Here's this year's...a gorgeous orange-pink with white striations.
