However, this year was slightly different. I had a wonderful week in sunny Mexico and then on my return, took ownership of my new puppy, Roxie. Needless to say, it's been a week of adjustments for both Roxie and us!

Spring Has Sprung

Spring is about three weeks early this year and I for one am not complaining.  Slipped outside early this morning and snipped a bud off the magnolia tree...as soon as the magnolia starts blooming, we know the warm weather is starting. In fact, today in Toronto we may reach the warmest March 22nd temperature ever - 26 degrees centigrade. I'll be going for a bike ride.

A Different Kind of Gardening

A couple of weekends ago, we took the boys into Toronto's Kensington Market on a Saturday morning. It's a fun place to shop, have breakfast and people watch. The boys always find something interesting to look at and it's such a change from the sterility of the suburbs.

This particular Saturday we were intrigued by the vehicular reclamation project. I couldn't walk past without whipping my camera out. Decorating that car and planting the scrubs looks like it must have been incredible fun. Despite the fact that Ian's car is pretty old, I'll have to suppress the urge to cover it with graffiti - he still has to get to work.

A Silent Snowy Morning in Ontario

I woke in the early hours of the morning and noticed that it had snowed more heavily than expected during the night. From our bed, if the bathroom door is left open, I have a lovely view out of the window. I lay in bed this morning, feeling very lazy, contemplating whether to get a little more shut-eye or not. Eventually the picturesque view from the window won me over and I grabbed my camera a took a few photos.

The Simple Things in Life - Summer Night

The other evening, my husband was just leaving to pick up our eldest son and I was getting ready to crawl into bed at the end of a long week. "Grab your camera" he yelled up the stairs "you should see the sunset this evening" so I headed down and took this quick shot. I know there are much more spectacular sunsets but it doesn't happen often in our neck of the woods and it's was just so beautiful.

Jacaranda Designs Jewelry Now Available at Dorly Designs in Toronto

My apologies for not having posted in the last week. I've been so busy. I made the decision to start selling my jewelry in stores. On Wednesday I approached a brand new store in the Leslieville area of Toronto called Dorly Designs. They just opened on Tuesday.

On Friday I delivered my first stock and set up my glass display shelf with my jewelry.

So I'm hoping that this is successful. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Keep you fingers crossed
for me!

Supply Shopping

The weather is glorious today so I thought I'd take advantage of the ice free roads and venture into Toronto to a few of my favourite beading stores. Of course, all I really needed was some brass chain but came back with a couple of bags of chain, beads, crystals and semi-precious stones. I was determined not to go over a certain dollar limit so I purposely paid for only 30 minutes of parking and then dashed in. Good thing about shopping like that, is I can't do quite as much damage...there again, I'll probably find a good excuse to make my way into town again soon.....and there's always shopping online! It was FUN though!
