Sunny Sunday

After a month of battling the flu and bronchitis, I think I am finally on the mend. Yesterday I headed up to the ski hill with the family and although I no longer downhill ski, I threw on my hiking boots and my snow shoes and went on a 2 hour walk (which felt like a marathon). There was a lot of uphill and so today I've got the aching muscles. However, it felt so good to get out and exercise and smell the fresh air. Plus, once I made it to the top of the hill, the view was just spectacular.

Today is a beautiful, bright, sunny day, although very crisp. In that train of thought, I wanted to showcase on my blog, an Etsy treasury called "Spring Stripes" that was created by a fellow Etsian, Octopurse, a couple of weeks ago. I just LOVE this one. I really like the idea of stripes of color and was thrilled to have my necklace featured in it.

Spring is just around the corner and with it comes nature's fresh, colorful array of flowers. My latest jewelry designs reflect this in the use of gorgeous colors and floral themes. They're romantic and classic with a vintage twist. I hope you enjoy them.

It's Chilly Out - Winter Hats From Etsy Sellers

I've spent most of this weekend in a hockey rink watching my youngest son's team in a tournament. Yesterday my head got so cold, I decided I was dressing for the cold arena this morning and popped on my black fleecy hat - worked like a charm. I realized I actually enjoy wearing hats and yet I only have the one. So I started scouting around on Etsy and found some great hats guaranteed to keep your head cozy in the chilly weather.

Check out the little owl hat at the end...wish they made it in an adult size :)

New year, New Packaging For Jacaranda Designs Jewelry

I decided to start off the new year with a change in the packaging for Jacaranda Designs jewelry. In the past I've used the silver foil jewelry boxes for larger or more delicate items. Smaller items were packaged in delicate organza bags.

I'm now using eco friendly boxes with a simple purple and white ribbon tied in a tasteful bow around the box.

I'll be using this packaging for many of my more fragile and larger items of jewelry but I'm still in two minds as to whether to continue to use organza bags for smaller products or whether to switch everything over to the new packaging?

What do you think? I'd love some feedback from you.

Happy 2011! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Have you made any new year resolutions? I was going to go to the gym this morning but didn't get to it but I imagine it was fairly full of people determined to get fit and lose weight. I'm definitely cutting out sugar for a while as I over indulged on the baked goods over Christmas and am now paying the price!

We spent the last few days at my in-laws cottage in Saint Saveur, Quebec. The weather wasn't perfect for outdoor sports but we managed to get in some skiing and snow shoeing!
