Paperwhites

Every Christmas I buy paperwhite bulbs and they usually bloom about a week before Christmas. Some people don't care for the fragrance from the flowers but for me, it has such a powerful association. When my first child was born, it was the first week of Janurary, several years ago now, and many people brought us paperwhite bulbs as gifts. Now whenever I smell them, I get transported right back to the first week back from hospital.

Here's the last of my paperwhites from December!

It's Thursday Already!

I don't know where the time goes these days. I have so many projects I want to complete and not enough hours in the day! I should really go out and get some exercise, but it's cold and snowy and slushy and I would much rather stay indoors. So I'm working on rings today. I'm hoping to introduce a line of rings to my Etsy store in the next couple of months so for now I'm having fun experimenting. Happy Thursday everyone!

Finished!

Well, I finally got around to finishing the bracelet I was in the process of completing on Monday. I love the way it turned out. I now have to decide whether to sell this one or keep it for myself. Maybe I'l make another and sell one of them! Otherwise, It's snowy day here today so I'm experimenting with a light box that I made yesterday.

My amaryllis is finally flowering!

My mother-in-law gives me an amaryllis bulb every December and every January it blooms in my kitchen. It brings a lovely splash of color to an otherwise rather dreary weather winter. I never know what color it's going to be. Here's this year's...a gorgeous orange-pink with white striations.

Monday - Time to finish off some jewelry pieces

Sometimes I find that I start several different projects and finish non of them! So today I'm going to work my way through these unfinished pieces! This one is a bracelet using czech glass beads, swarovski crystals in an increible, brilliant blue and Japanese seed beads. I just have to find the right clasp in my boxes and boxes of findings!

Love Knot Bracelet

This is one of my favorite bracelets. My instructor, Dee, first showed me how to make one and I fell in love with it instantly. I always spray any metallic and galvanized beads after I've created a piece to prevent the colors from changing or fading.

Ring around a rosie!

Thought I would try making a ring version of my memory bracelet ...this is what I came up with ...still needs some work though!

More hair Posies

I love making these - they're quick to create and I have fun selecting the various beads...oh, and they look great in a ponytail!
