The Mystic Peacock

I've always been fascinated by peacocks.

When I was a young girl, my sister and I used to go to visit my grandmother in York, England for a couple of weeks each summer. One of the highlights of visiting, would be the day trip to the York Museum Gardens. Back then, there were peacocks walking free all around the gardens and my sister and I used to hunt for stray peacock feathers that were lying around.

In retrospect, it probably wasn't very higienic but we used to ride home on the train with "Granny" with several peacock feathers that we would put in a vase in her living room.

My love of peacocks has never faded and so I found myself looking for unique peacock themed items on Etsy.

Look at the marvelous treasures I found!

Beautiful Spring Irises

This week is somewhat chaotic as the boys are enjoying March Break. I also have my in-laws visiting for the week so time to work on my jewelry and my blog is somewhat limited.

I was having some fun on the weekend practicing some photography tips I was given. I had bought these lovely irises on "special" at my local grocery store last week. They didn't look like much when I first arranged them in the vase, but three days later they were looking spectacular. Such a splash of color in this otherwise rather gray winter weather.

Glamorous and Sophisticated Vintage Glass Jewel Earrings

Vintage jewelry is very popular right now and for good reason. The rich colors and sparkle of the vintage glass is alluring and striking. I've just recently added some more gorgeous designs to my shop, Jacaranda Designs. The earrings are so versatile as you can wear them to dress up simple jeans and tee or if you heading out to a party, add some vintage Hollywood glam to your little black dress! Wherever you wear them, you're sure to LOVE them.

Green and Purple

Yes, more photos of plants from my week in Cuba. I love the purple and green leaves of the one plant! I haven't been able to do much beading since I have been back as my lower back locked up on our way home so I've been shuffling around the house and to and from bed.

I've posted a photo of some earrings I was working on before I left. They are similar to the tangerine earrings I had in my giveaway but in a pale blue.

Colors of the Ocean

Yesterday I felt like working with blues and greens and turquoises.  I got out all my supply boxes (and there are a lot) and started working on an asymmetrical necklace using all these colors plus sterling silver.  I had this lovely sterling silver square link that I've been waiting to use so I incorporated that into the design also.  I love the finished product as the colors are so fresh!
